Photoluminescent Paints

Provides visible pathways, emitting light in total darkness. An efficient and cost-effective escape route lighting system:

  • Photoline Matting
  • Wayfinding

Photoline Matting

Black, slip-resistant walkway matting with a 10cm wide photoluminescent strip running along the centre, meeting the requirements of DIN67510 Part 4. A cushioned PVC grid which provides insulation from cold and damp floors and can cut down on breakages. It’s one-piece lightweight format makes it easy to roll up so any spills can be cleaned from the floor below. It retains its smart appearance subject to regular cleaning and minimal general maintenance. Manufactured from hardwearing material which contours itself to the floor, it can be fitted quickly and easily, even into awkwardly shaped areas. Provides the perfect solution, particularly in areas of low density occupation, such as plant rooms, maintenance and restricted access areas.

Wayfinding

In the event of a fire, light sources may fail, leaving the identification of escape routes dependent on secondary back-up lighting. The great advantage of this material is that no back up power source is needed. The photoluminescent pigment absorbs natural and electric light and stores the energy. When the light source is terminated the material illuminates independently.

Wayfinding coatings and signage, used in accordance the P.S.P.A. Code of Practice 002 Part 1, can provide an excellent solution for escape route lighting in emergency and ordinary power loss situations.

In areas where corridors are used as escape routes, the painting of continuous waist level and skirting level strips, each with a minimum width of 100mm is recommended. In large open areas which have no corridors, e.g. shopping precincts and airports, two 100mm wide tram lines or one single 200mm guide path should be painted.
